Do I need my own gear?
No. Every guided day includes rods, reels, flies, terminal tackle, and waders and boots in your size. Bring your own gear if you prefer — your guide will happily tune it up — but no gear is no problem.
Do I need a Michigan fishing license?
Yes. Every angler needs a valid Michigan fishing license before launch. Buy one online from the Michigan DNR ahead of time and bring proof — we cannot sell licenses at the ramp.
I've never fly fished. Is that okay?
Absolutely — beginners are our favorite trips. Your guide teaches casting from the ground up, fishes one or two anglers at a time, and keeps instruction personal all day.
What is included in the trip price?
Rods, reels, flies, tackle, waders and boots, plus streamside lunch and cold drinks on full-day trips. All you need is a license, sunglasses, and weather-appropriate layers.
What happens in bad weather?
We fish in rain — some of the best bites happen under clouds. If flows or lightning make the river unsafe, we reschedule at no charge or refund your deposit in full.
How many anglers per guide?
One or two anglers per boat and guide. Parties of three or more split across boats with additional guides — tell us your headcount on the booking page and we will staff it.
Do you keep the fish?
No. All of our guided trips are catch-photo-release. Fish stay in the water for a quick photo and swim away strong.
